Avoca Grove, Blackrock

Ronan MacDiarmada & Associates Ltd provided landscape architectural services for Avoca Grove, an exclusive boutique development by Kilkenny Residential, located on the historic grounds of Dal Riada House in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Comprising just nine luxury residences—eight semi-detached townhouses and one detached home—this unique scheme is defined by bold, contemporary architecture, including distinctive barrel roofs, red steel detailing, and floor-to-ceiling glazing.

RMDA’s landscape design responds sensitively to the site’s coastal setting and architectural ambition. The external environment was carefully crafted to complement the striking built form, using refined paving materials, structured planting, and subtle references to the site’s heritage. The landscape strategy prioritised visual cohesion, resident privacy, and sustainable functionality, with considered boundary treatments, integrated SuDS features, and accessible circulation routes that promote both movement and neighbourly interaction.
